 Welcome . . .

Barn RaisingSometimes men just need to get away and do those things that men enjoy doing, like plunking away with a gun at flying skeet, or, fiddling with machines, or just being outside without worrying about getting dirty or keeping your hair combed. Sometimes that's the best time to find out what really makes a guy tick. What are his victories, his mountains, what makes him laugh, and the worries he can't turn loose of. The guys involved in the Fellowship In The Field have been there and done that, but they have also had the life changing experience of giving all of these things over to Jesus Christ, the God-Man who really knows what men (and women) deal with in this earthly life.

Real Men Love JesusThere's an expression among some Christian men, "Real men love Jesus." That's really what we in the Fellowship In The Field want everyone, especially men, to know. Being a "real man" as our culture defines it, a real masculine, rough, tumble, strong, competitive, manly man is totally consistent with loving the Savior. But that's not what Jesus came to tell us. If truth be told, most of us will never be a John Wayne or Arnold Schwarzenegger, or even anything approaching these almost mythical ideas of manhood. You see, real courage and strength isn't determined by how masculine you are or your testosterone level. No, real courage and strength comes from Jesus Christ, the bravest man who ever lived. That's what millions and millions of men through the ages have found. Men like Saul of Tarsus, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, and Tony Dungy.

Giving it all to the Savior is truly a life-changing experience. One that we don't want to keep to ourselves. That's why we decided to have "fellowship in the field." The "fellowship" is just men enjoying the wholesome and encouraging company of other men. The "field" setting allows us to do some of those things that God made possible for us to enjoy in His creation. There's something about getting out of our fast-paced, urban world into raw nature that is settling, rejuvenating and peaceful. We want all men to come and enjoy our "fellowship in the field" and grow with us as we seek to become more and more like the REAL MAN of all times, Jesus Christ.
